About Me
I currently am enrolled in the broadcast, film and content creation course; I aspire to be a presenter and journalist. My dream job is to be a presenter and social media journalist on BBC news and potentially a radio host. I hope to own a podcast one day where I would talk about what's going on in the news, social media and hot topics! Furthermore, I am interested in many sectors of journalism such as, news, fashion, social media and music I am inspired by Nadia Jae - BBC 1xtra radio host and Maya Jama - Tv presenter; they are both independent woman in the film industry and have a fun, professional presenting style.
I chose this pathway because I’ve always wanted to be on television and I believe that this broadcast pathway would help me achieve that goal through providing me knowledge and hands on experience that can help me in the film industry. Additionally, I took part in the young reporter scheme last year, which is a journalistic experience where you write articles for a newspaper and will be taking part this year; with each article I wrote, my aim was to create a connection with the reader. Furthermore, in the summer, I volunteered at my local radio station. Through this experience, I immersed myself in the world of broadcasting through writing engaging scripts and connecting with the audience through my tone of voice.
I am most proud of my recent experience of being part of the BBC Get in Taster day as i got to network with industry professionals in my aspiring field and gain more of an insight. In my chosen pathway, what excites me most is the facilities and gaining an insight of all the roles because I get the privilege to use rooms designed for film making and gain knowledge/experience on other roles.
